Two weeks ago I got a phone call that The New York Times would be covering Long Beach State’s run to the NCAA Basketball Tournament – and that we were granted all access behind the scenes with the team. I got to spend an intense day with the team on Friday, after working about 18 hours that day I was exhausted, but loved every moment of it. Here are a few of the many pictures I got to make. Covered a NACA event on Thursday designed to help homeowners get more affordable mortgages, there are massive amounts of paperwork, documents, files, statements, procedures, and details that must be met in order to get one of these low interest loans. Thousands of people showed up, waiting hours in line just to have their documents scanned and talk on the phone with a loan counselor about what might be possible. Not everyone who attended will get a loan restructuring, but for the few who did, it would save them hundreds of dollars each month – the difference between keeping their home and losing it.
